Rubén Justo 71c7916053 apply: plug a leak in apply_data
We have an execution path in apply_data that leaks the local struct
image.  Plug it.

This leak can be triggered with:

    $ echo foo >file
    $ git add file && git commit -m file
    $ echo bar >file
    $ git diff file >diff
    $ sed s/foo/frotz/ <diff >baddiff
    $ git apply --cached <baddiff

Fixing this leak allows us to mark as leak-free the following tests:

    + t2016-checkout-patch.sh
    + t4103-apply-binary.sh
    + t4104-apply-boundary.sh
    + t4113-apply-ending.sh
    + t4117-apply-reject.sh
    + t4123-apply-shrink.sh
    + t4252-am-options.sh
    + t4258-am-quoted-cr.sh

Mark them with "TEST_PASSES_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" to notice and fix
promply any new leak that may be introduced and triggered by them in the
future.

Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 1ff543acd0 apply tests: use "test_must_fail" instead of ad-hoc pattern
Change a fragile test pattern introduced in 6b763c424e (git-apply: do
not read past the end of buffer, 2007-09-05). Before this we wouldn't
distinguish normal "git apply" failures from segfaults or abort().

I'd previously marked this test as passing under SANITIZE=leak in
f54f48fc07 (leak tests: mark some apply tests as passing with
SANITIZE=leak, 2021-10-31). Let's remove that annotation as this test
will no longer pass.

Eric Sunshine 74d2f5695d tests: fix broken &&-chains in compound statements
The top-level &&-chain checker built into t/test-lib.sh causes tests to
magically exit with code 117 if the &&-chain is broken. However, it has
the shortcoming that the magic does not work within `{...}` groups,
`(...)` subshells, `$(...)` substitutions, or within bodies of compound
statements, such as `if`, `for`, `while`, `case`, etc. `chainlint.sed`
partly fills in the gap by catching broken &&-chains in `(...)`
subshells, but bugs can still lurk behind broken &&-chains in the other
cases.

Fix broken &&-chains in compound statements in order to reduce the
number of possible lurking bugs.

Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason f54f48fc07 leak tests: mark some apply tests as passing with SANITIZE=leak
Mark some tests that match "*apply*" as passing when git is compiled
with SANITIZE=leak. They'll now be listed as running under the
"GIT_TEST_PASSING_SANITIZE_LEAK=true" test mode (the "linux-leaks" CI
target).

Junio C Hamano 6b763c424e git-apply: do not read past the end of buffer
When the preimage we are patching is shorter than what the patch
text expects, we tried to match the buffer contents at the
"original" line with the fragment in full, without checking we
have enough data to match in the preimage.  This caused the size
of a later memmove() to wrap around and attempt to scribble
almost the entire address space.  Not good.

The code that follows the part this patch touches tries to match
the fragment with line offsets.  Curiously, that code does not
have the problem --- it guards against reading past the end of
the preimage.
