I'd be more of a fan of a matrix community or something on freenode... ideally self-hosted eventually.
btw there I've created a Gitter community some time ago, just didn't advertise:
https://gitter.im/dotya-ml/community
https://gitter.im/dotya-ml/help
links to these should probably be added to README

Proposing discord because it's the portal of choice for the new generation of developers.. Ideally would like to see a two-way bridges tbh

I'd prefer freenode or matrix to discord tbh and I don't see anything wrong with gitter (which you can also self-host btw)

i would also prefer freenode (matrix is owned by cloudflare that is hostile to onion users), but as said new generation prefers discord thus why am i suggesting it ideally as bridged so that messages sent to discord would be in sync with freenode and vise versa.

I see your point and I guess there's no harm in having a freenode-to-discord bridge... or a two-way bridge...

so I've created a Discord server, feel free to join (invite should never expire so this is probably still valid later). https://discord.gg/s55tZUG2rR
