I think it's not a bug here afterall - you should try to clear your cache.
it takes forever but loads it all.

alright, now that caching and brotli level 11 are enabled specifically for the font file, the only reason for the font to be requested over and over again by the TorBrowser is that it just refuses to save it in cache (for reasons unknown).

that is - I am closing this for now as it's an upstream bug (or feature) and I've done all I could on my side.

until there's a patch in either Gitea using some other font or TB not blocking it, I think we have to live with this.

I would say gitea bug, because gitea doesn't have sufficient timeout for font loading which is what is this caused by as TBB switches on the onion site once the clearweb is loaded.

I still think it's TB bug (Firefox loads fine, Chromium loads fine).
The font is now cached on the proxy so the response should be immediate.
Why it takes forever to load for TB is a mystery.
Why does it even accept it when remote fonts are blocked?
